Intern/Volunteer Program
The Intern/Volunteer Program is your way of becoming involved in
the criminal justice system. You will have the privilege to work
with a Nationally Accredited Probation Department. Yours will be
an exciting hands-on experience involving:
· Working with misdemeanor and felony offenders
· Gaining insight and experience with the criminal justice
process and society's social needs
· On-the-job training by Criminal Justice Services Officers
Once you have joined us you will be counted as part of the Division
of Criminal Justice Services (APD) team, and, as such, will be relied
upon to maintain regularly scheduled hours as agreed upon between
you and your assigned Criminal Justice Services Officer.
The DCJS particularly needs assistance between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00
p.m.
Training for these positions:
You will attend a general orientation and will go through mandatory
training by assigned staff. Optional on-going training opportunities
will also be available.
Possible Work Sites:
· 41 North Perry Street - The Courts Building
· 14 West Fourth Street - The Reibold Building
· 1320 East Fifth Street - Sunrise Center
· 379 West First Street - an office building across from
the Dayton Board of Education Building
