Position: Intern Coordinator
This position supports the general Program Coordinator functions
in the areas of Community Service, Employment, and Social Services.
Description:
This position supports the Division of Criminal Justice
Services Staff by being responsible for assisting the Program Coordinators
in carrying out their responsibilities. Once trained the Intern
works independently under the general direction of a professional
DCJS staff member.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Conduct Community Service Orientation, Job Seeking
Skills Workshop, Tours and related tasks
· Interview clients, make Community Service Work (CSW) or
Job placements & monitor client performance
· Interview clients and make Social Service Referrals
· Operate a computer using Windows 95/98, a Case Management
application, a Word Processor, and/or Spreadsheet
· Maintain computerized and routine records
· Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
· Criminal Justice Services accepts as Interns students
who meet their institution's intern requirements
· Assist the division at least once a week for four (4)
consecutive hours. The four-hour period can be anytime between 8:30
a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Monday, and between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday through Friday.
· Familiarity with computers especially Windows 95/98 and
a Word Processor or a Spreadsheet is very helpful, but not absolutely
necessary.
· Ability to maintain confidential Court and Probation information
· Ability to work independently within policy and procedures
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing using standard
English
