Arbitration :

Arbitration is a process where the parties to a civil lawsuit present facts and legal arguments to a neutral single attorney or a panel of three neutral attorneys who then render a decision. Civil cases eligible for arbitration are those where the amount of damages claimed in the dispute does not exceed $50,000. The parties may accept the arbitration report and award, or appeal the award to the assigned judge for a jury trial. The purpose of arbitration is to help the court resolve civil disputes of small or modest monetary claims.
