JUDGE STEVEN DANKOF
Judge Dankof was appointed as a General Division Judge on December 30, 2010, and re-elected to the bench in November 2012. He currently serves on the Civil and Criminal Practice Committees.
Judge Dankof received his BBA summa cum laude from Ohio University in 1973 and his J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1976. He is a member of The Order of the Coif.
Upon graduation from law school, Judge Dankof practiced law with the Dayton firm of Smith & Schnacke until 1989. Thereafter, and until his appointment to the bench, Judge Dankof was a trial lawyer in Dayton focusing his practice primarily in civil litigation, including complex civil litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, and was named "Dayton Best Lawyers Personal Injury Litigator of the Year" for 2011.
Judge Dankof was an instructor at Antioch University/McGregor School MBA Program from 1992-2009 and is a frequent lecturer for both the Ohio State and Dayton Bar Associations. He currently serves on the Dayton Bar Association's Certified Grievance Committee and previously served on the Montgomery County Public Defender Commission. Judge Dankof is a member of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court and the Dayton Lawyers Club.
